Another all-nighter.
It's 3am, and here I am pulling another all-nighter. That's okay - I dug this hole myself by doing not nearly enough over Thanksgiving. I'm feeling okay. Maybe it's because I stayed at home all day (expending less energy), or maybe it's because I've started taking vitamin C again. In any case, I have a nearly insurmountable amount of work ahead of me the next 4-6 days (20 page paper, 3 finals, problem set, etc). Yet, I'm not panicing. I'm not sure why. I'm suspecting it's apathy (I just had a long talk with Amy tonight about my re-thinking about this whole grad school thing.), but it could also be confidence - so far this semester, I've been working hard - and at the points that I seem like I'm screwed, I somehow pull it off rather successfully. We'll see how it goes this way around. The return home was hell. Snow in Chicago (AGAIN!). Bummed around DFW for 4 hours, and then barely made my connecting flight in Chicago, which took off past midnight. Arriving home was good though. Amy was there to surprise me, but as it was 4am, she had fallen asleep. Monday night, she cooked me steak - yum! Tonight, we went to Target to buy Christmas stuff, and then we went over to hang out at Jeff's place with John and one of their friends. Why am I going shopping and hanging out when I'm drowining in a sea of homework and finals? I don't know. But it was relaxing, and now I have a Christmas tree, and I bet most of my classmates don't. :). Back to my econ problem set. (3.20 am

Going back to DC!
Today's my last day at home - going back to DC tonight.I talked with Amy for a long time last night - I can't wait to see her again... I am soooo screwed on the homework front though - I was supposed to get all caught up and be good going into finals season, but with only a few hours of my vacation left, I'm not even ready for Tuesday morning, much less having made any grounds on my 20 page research paper due in less than a week. Egads! (11.18 am

Amherst Weekend, School and Plane hell, Thanksgiving
Backtracking a bit - a lot has been going on recently.Amherst Weekend Just as Amy had left, Irvie came down from Yale and filled the void (not to fear, Amy - you have no substitute - Irvie was just a band-aid), and we proceeded to have a very Amherst weekend. First, we had dinner with Helena, who I haven't seen since graduation, and Helena's boyfriend at Sushi Taro. Yum. Then we went to "Art-o-matic" - this huge exhibit of local art in a condemmed EPA office building. Really cool. You don't really often get to see art to this extent outside of musuems or hauty-tauty art galleries, but the atmosphere here was amazing - "fringe factor" young people, a lot of non-whites, and a Hip-Hop DJ in the corner. Granted that a lot of the art was crap, but there were more than a few things that I really appreciated. Sunday, Irvie and I woke up late, made some humungo-omelettes. We walked around all over the neighborhood, and then met up with Florence, another Amherst buddy who just got engaged to Frank, one of our Amherst friends out in SF. Then that night, I drove Irvie back to his sister's place in Baltimore, had crab cakes (claimed to be the best in Baltimore), and then met up with Mina and Irene, yet two more Amherst people I haven't seen since graduation, for coffee. School and Travel Hell Then I pulled another all-nighter Monday night. You get the picture. Then on Tuesday morning, I subjected myself again to hell by trying to fly home two days before Thanksgiving through Chicago during a snowstorm. Hours and hours waiting at the airport, worries that I might have to spend the night in Chicago, finally arriving 10 hours later. You get the picture. Thanksgiving Happy Thanksgiving! Finally got home! Get to hang out with family, amy, and plano friends. eat eat eat. Sick, though :(. Will write more later when I'm not stuffed to the brim. (1.35 pm
