My low point today (point of panic), was when I discovered that I had opt'ed out of the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) on my car rental contract. This meant I was responsible for buying Budget-rent-a-car a new truck if the stolen one wasn't found.

My high point today (point of relief), was when i discovered that my suspicions were correct: Since I reserved the car on my American Express card, they provide supplimentary Loss and Damage coverage to rental cards. This means that if my other sources of insurance can't or won't buy budget a new truck, they will.

I also had an oh-shit moment. (as an aside, Amy and I took the metro out to Target to buy Scrabble and on the way back, stopped by Circuit city and bought a TV that we intend to return). I was sitting in our furniture-less living room watching Blind Date and playing scrabble w/ Amy, when I leisurely checked my orientation schedule tomorrow (orientation for school starts tomorrow). I discovered that my econ placement test originally scheduled for Thursday was actually tomorrow. Oh shit. I have majorly slacked off studying, but was planning on cramming most of tomorrow when I wasn't doing orientation activities. I'm sweating bullets about it - I don't know how it'll turn out.

So, this morning, I fried my wireless router (which I paid $350 for), our apartment almost caught on fire when our *new* toaster oven malfunctioned, and then right afterwards, I went out to repark my rental car, didn't find it, thought it was towed, and then discovered that it was actually stolen.

Lets go over that again:

Fried expensive computer equiptment

Almost burned down apartment

Had rental car stolen

What a day.
