Plano Pah-Tee!!
This past week was quite good. Amy came home on Tuesday, earlier than I expected, and surprised me. Had a nice dinner on Wednesday with just me and my little sister, Daisy at the restauraunt her boyfriend works at. Went out afterwards to meet up with Chris at the Londoner, and had the pleasant surprise of meeting up with the ever famous Peter Yang who came back earlier than expected into Dallas (for our party friday and the wedding reception today). He was also good enough to drag Amy out, who I had been unable to get out of the house. That was nice too =).

Last night, Amy and I threw a grand ol' BBQ bash in my backyard, inviting a bunch of old Plano friends including many out-of-towners who were coming back for Grace & Andy's wedding reception tonight. Had a fun, chill, laid-back time, with some scarry revelations of how old we're getting (one of our old classmates came and brought along his wife and two kids). The food was yummy and the company was better.

To Austin and Back again
So my birthday took an unexpected twist. An old friend from HK Rainbow randomly got bumped off her connection at DFW monday night, remembered that I lived in Dallas, and gave me a call. I ended up having birthday alcohol after all!

The rest of the week was quite uneventful. I still haven't unpacked from my Asia trip, my Austin/DC trip, or my most recent trip to Austin, so my room is, as my mom calls it, "A Disaster Area"... hmmm, maybe I can recieve federal funding for it... hmmm, probably not, as I'm already 'ripping off' the government, by persistently continuing to draw unemployment. While being uneventful, I did get some important stuff done such as closing the paperwork on my DC apartment, re-filing for unemployment, and closing paperwork on all my student loans. I also got to hang out with Chris and friends, go rock climbing, and to see Shakesphere, Texas style.

Then, my one-day trip to Austin. Amy's program finished on friday, and there was an exhibition of selected works from her class. Amy's family was originally going to go down, but when they canceled, I had horrifying thoughts of Amy being all alone and sad without anyone coming down to see her work, so I hopped in Bob the Honda, and once again drove down to Austin. I was smarter this time around and packed a whole bunch of CD's which made the drive go by really fast. It was really cool to see the end result of all of Amy's work. She tends to downplay her abilities, but she made some really cool, well thought-out models and drawings. I'm really proud of her.

I was only in Austin for about 18 hours, but we did a lot - times six!!11! No, but really, we ate some yummy bbq with her Architecture friends, and then went to an Architecture party. We were both pretty tired, but managed to wake up in time to eat yummy breakfast at Kirby Lane before going home... okay, in truth, we woke up several hours later than I had planned, but we ate breakfast anyways... okay, in truth, it was past noon, so it can't really be considered breakfast, but it was breakfast food...

Heehee... So I came back yesterday afternoon, and had a nice evening with the family (minus dawn). We threw steaks on the grill outside, and played bridge all night afterwards.
