First night in boston, and I had a quality night - After Austin, I'm getting used to the white trash scene. Just got back from a low-class suburban boston hangout. Ended up getting drunk and singing karaoke. weee-hooo! The flight here was fantastic - Since a lot of my upgrade certificats(sp! I'm drunk) were running out, I upgraded all the way to first class. People may not know this, but there is such a thing as yummy airline food. Very excited to see the peeps all gathering around in Boston. (12.28 am

So, instead of going to bed, I uploaded a whole bunch of pictures I've been scanning. Look at the new albums: England (which is a superset of what used to be "Europe Trip"), Scotland, and Ireland. I'm also using a script to automate things. It's pretty cool, very little work on my side. (4.34 am

) Going to boston tomorrow.... wheee-whooo! (don't ask me what kind of sound "wheee-whooo" is). Getting in at 8pm tomorrow and going up to Amherst on Saturday. The original plan was to stay a week, but since I'm now leaving for Japan the week after, I'm probably going to book it home after homecoming to prepare for the interview. My life is going to be quite busy for the next couple of weeks - It's going to be focused around 3 things: 1) Getting my Japanese up to speed, 2) Becoming an Object Oriented Design Guru, 3) Completing law school applications. I got a good start on all three today - I've been listening to silly Japanese tapes all day, cracked open the UML book, and started filling out Law School apps over the web today. Yawn - going to bed. (2.47 am

Just got back from a 5-day weekend in Austin, TX (yes, when you're unemployed, you can take 5-day weekends, guilt-free). A whole bunch of old Sapient friends (Dave Blagg, Mandy Cox, Bern Huang and Garrett Walker) met up this weekend there. I had grand 'ol time, and generally was very relaxed and happy. Some things I did: - Watched "Blackula" at the Austin Drafthouse - Sat at an outdoor coffee house playing cards - Had the best chicken fried steak in the world and went two-step dancing to country music at an ol-fashioned honky-tonk - drank at Fedo, a great Irish bar in Austin - went outdoor rock climbing - Ate a big juicy texas-style steak - Hung out by Town Lake - Drove down to San Antonio, visited the Alamo, ate ice-cream by the riverwalk, and took my little sister and her roommate (who are going to Trinity University in San Antonio) out to dinner. Here's a picture of the gang (click it to enlarge): ![]() and click here to read my Garrett's account of the weekend. In slightly other news, the night before I drove down to Austin, I had the wonderful opportunity to listen to Yo-yo Ma performing in an ensamble he created - the Silk Road Ensamble, and after the concert, I actually got to meat Yo-Yo Ma. Granted, we only spoke a handful of words to each other, it was cool, as he is the best string soloist, and the best musician currently alive in the world, in my opinion. ***Job Search Update*** I just got a call from the Japanese company that I've been talking with. They want to fly me up to Tokyo for an on-site interview. I am super-psyched, and slightly-nervous at the same time. I'm probably going to go in about a week and a half. (2.17 pm
