Monetary Theory Midterm - Check
Just got out of my Int'l Monetary Theory midterm. Badda-bing! I think I kicked ass on it. I ended up using 5 different colored pens, and drew a multitutes of graphs. I had so much fun - I'm such an econ nerd! 8-B

So, in the news they claim that they caught the sniper-dude. Forgive me for being skeptical and a pessimist, but the poh-lice hasn't imbued me with too much confidence. It seems like all their actions so far has been more for trying to shore up public confidence and feelings of security, when in fact the continued thumb-nosing defiance of the sniper has done the opposite. I pray that they really did catch the guy, but I for one won't be venturing out to the suburbs until either they prove conclusivly that this is the guy, or there hasn't been a shooting in a significant amount of time.

Time for my next test!

New York!
The New York was a blast and a half! (I've got to stop using silly antiquated phrases like "was a blast". My age is showing, or maybe simply my lack of suave). Anyways, in bulletpoints we:
  • Drove up through both DC and Baltimore rush hour traffic for a 6 hour journey to NYC. With no radio, gladfully Amy and I speak the same language, as so we were able to have a conversation. Good conversation, actually... When Amy didn't have her mouth full with food ;). Actually, I think that's a good sign ... having good conversation, not Amy having her mouth full.
  • Finally met the ever famous Angie, and as a special bonus her equally stylish charming sister. Had Thai food. Eat eat eat.
  • Met up with my Amherst crew, who were already mid-party at a crazy Korean club. Shot after shot of Johnny Walker Black Label, as well as those silly fruit/food platters that they force you to buy at Korean clubs. Luckly (said in jest), the whiskey was highly watered down, so even the most light weight of us all (you know who you are!) didn't get sick. All in all it was a good reunion.
  • Went to Soho and shop shop shop shopped. I actually wasn't planning on spending any money, but I came across this cool winter hat and gloves - for a dollar each! I made some dumb comment to the cash register lady about how expensive clothes were these days, and she didn't get it. Also got some cool jeans.
  • Ate sandwiches and soup while people watching.
  • Joined Inny, Jiyoun, and Inok again in K-town, ate dinner with Inny's family at our old favorite - Gam-me-oak. The only thing they serve there is their specialty - it's some noodle/rice soup thing that is served bland, and your garnish it yourself with green onions and sea-salt. We always go there, and I always have to order it, and I always wish I could order something else, but I think I'm getting used to it. The company more than made up for the food though.
  • Waited hours for Irvie and Linda to arrive into town upon which we went down to the Village to hang out and have coffee, dessert, and beer at some cafe. We were joined by Amy, Angie, Jenn (Angie's sister), and Angie's new boy-toy. All in all it was a plesant quiet evening spent with friends.
  • On Sunday, Amy and I went down to Chinatown to have Dim Sum with Mr. and Mrs. Tam. Afterwards, we again went on a shopping spree, and bought lots of Chinatown stuff. Amy noted how just about everything they sell in Chinatown, we like, but I guess that's because we're Chinese-American (re: targeted marketing, etc whatever). Anyways, it was good - we're going to eat well this week.
  • Had an equally pleasant drive back to DC, this time taking our time getting through NYC/Tunnel/Jersey traffic.

All in all, it was an excellent weekend. Amy and I decided that we should make regular trips down to Chinatow...er... New York.

    I posted up
    pictures
from the trip. Also, I added some pictures to the DC album , and put in some pictures from my trip down to Austin over the summer.

I'm also now a proud linker to Joanne Moy's weblog and Alison Moy's website !

Last night I went rock climbing with Darren. It felt good to go climbing again. There were a whole bunch of really talented hard-core climbers there - it was good to watch them, to have something to aspire to. I think Darren and I are improving, though - we've been completing more difficult climbs each time we go.

This week is/has been pretty work heavy. I have a mid-term in Monetary Theory tomorrow - the class for which I've been to less than half the lectures. It's a mixed bag, so I'm not sure what to expect. On friday, I have my court date. I just had a meeting with my lawyer today, so I'm pretty confident / stress-free about that. It'll be good to have that done and over with.

On Thursday, Amy and I are planning to have a mini-Homecomming reprise, as we go to Houstons to eat baby-back ribs. Hopefully Amy will be done with her appointment with her professor in time so that we can make it.

    I surrender.
    Spills
Today was the second day in a row that I spilled my drink on or near my laptop. Yesterday, I spilled a whole glass of water on my laptop - thankfully I reacted quickly enough to save the laptop from short-circuiting. Just now, I spilled half a starbucks canned frappacino right next to my laoptop. Ironically, it spilled on my article about French imperialism in Vietnam. Anyways, I don't know what it is - maybe it's a reflection of my mental fatigue recently, or maybe I'm just unlucky.

    hmmm.
