Amy!
Last Friday was Amy and my 9th month anniversary. Normally I don't like to get too personal on this blog thing but I'm really happy in this relationship all gushy and stuff - I had no idea that it would last this long, be this serious, or, most importantly, how good it would be. Back in January, right when we had started dating, I wrote in my journal - "We're so comfortable with each other, physically, intellectually, conversationally" - that's remained true - I don't think I could have met someone so compatible (although compatible is a non-exciting adjective, it means so much in a relationship context - and it does make a relationship more exciting, ironically). Anyways, enough of my gushing - you can put away your barf bags now.Anyways, last friday, we went out for nice french dinner - the waiter didn't surrender, thank God (har har har), had a special night playing scrabble. I say special, because I kicked Amy's ass so bad that night (except for the very end when she cheated and ended up winning point-wise). Anyways, we had also bought champagne (again with the French theme - no, the bottle of champagne didn't surrender) for that night too, but forgot about it on friday, so finished it off Tuesday night while watching a great Hong Kong flick Wong Kar-wai's "In the mood for love". No, it's not a gushy melodramatic romance, as the title might suggest, but rather a subtle story of failed romance.... Today's friday again, Amy and I are on our way out to NYC for the weekend. We're going to visit her best friend, Angie, and one of my best friends from college, Inny, is back from Korea for the week. A weekend for best friends! I surrender. (3.25 pm
